Statistically the number of black and ethnic minority students at undergraduate level has risen across all UK universities; however the representation at staff level is still shockingly low. At LSE there is currently 1 Black professor employed; in the UK as a whole there are only 85 out of 18, 500. This website is dedicated to a current project being conducted by Akile Ahmet and Caroline Howarth examining the experiences of black and ethnic minority academics across UK Higher Education Institutions. The project has also included the experiences of black and ethnic minority postgraduate students specifically at the London School of Economics.
This website is dedicated to both the work we are currently undertaking but also the work being carried out across other intuitions. If you would like to get in touch or write for us please do email Akile Ahmet: firstname.lastname@example.org
